Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati to Bhalukpong

Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station by noon. Drive to Bhalukpong, the border town between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Complete your Inner Line Permit (ILP) verification at the Bhalukpong gate.

Head towards the beautiful valley of Dirang after breakfast. Stop at the Tipi Orchid Research Centre to see hundreds of exotic orchid species. Explore the ancient stone houses of Dirang Dzong (fortress) in the evening.

Dedicate this day to acclimating and exploring the serene Sangti Valley.Spot black-necked cranes (seasonal) and walk through Kiwi and Apple orchards.Visit the majestic Thupsung Dhargye Ling Monastery, a major center for Buddhist learning.

Start very early for a thrilling alpine drive to Tawang.Cross the breathtaking Sela Pass at an altitude of 13,700 feet. Stop by the frozen Sela Lake (Paradise Lake) and pay respects at the Jaswant Garh War Memorial. Admire the thunderous Nuranang Falls (Jang Falls) before checking into your Tawang hotel.

Tour the iconic Tawang Monastery, the second-largest practicing Buddhist monastery globally. Visit the giant Buddha Statue overlooking the valley for panoramic photos. Spend your evening learning history at the Tawang War Memorial light and sound show.

Hire a local North-East registered SUV to drive up to the Indo-China Border at Bum La Pass (15,200 ft). Enjoy the stunning views of Sangestar Tso (popularly known as Madhuri Lake). Note: This zone requires a special pass issued via local authorities in Tawang a day prior.

Day 7: Tawang to BomdilaBegin your descent back down the mountains toward Bomdila. Check into your hotel and head straight to the Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Bomdila Monastery). Catch a beautiful Himalayan sunset from the Bomdila View Point.

Depart early morning for the long return drive down to Guwahati. If flight timings allow, make a quick stop at the sacred Kamakhya Temple. Head to the airport for your flight back home.
